General FAQ

How do I place an order?

Our logo and photo cookies, bars and gifts are available for order on our website. Otherwise, please send us an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and include your name, phone number, and details about the types and quantities of cookies or other products you would like. Also include the date of your event, if applicable. We will promptly contact you to confirm your order and discuss additional details. You may also call us at (973) 379-0740.

How much lead time do you need?

To ensure that each customer receives the highest level of personal service and to meet our customers' deadlines, we prefer at least two (2) weeks lead time for photo and logo cookies. If your lead time is less than two weeks, please call and we will do our best to work with you. Our delicious bars, chocolate chip cookies, and other gift products may require only 1-2 business days' lead time prior to shipment.

How are your products packaged or wrapped?

All of our products are individually wrapped or bagged.

What ingredients are in your cookies?

Our cookies, just like all of our other products, are baked without preservatives. Shortbread (and Chocolate) cookies contain the following ingredients: Flour, sugar, (brown sugar), butter, eggs, (coffee, cocoa powder) vanilla, baking powder, (baking soda). Icing contains the following ingredients: Confectionary sugar, water, butter, corn syrup, vanilla. All ink is edible, containing water, propylene, glycol, glycerin.

Are your products nut free?

No. We do not recommend that people with food allergies consume our products and do so at their own risk. While many of our products do not specifically include nuts, we prepare our products in our facility that uses various allergens, including, but not limited to, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and wheat.

What is shelf life of your products?

Our desserts contain no preservatives. Shelf life of our photo and logo cookies is about two weeks from ship date. The shelf life of other products varies — please contact us with any questions about a specific product.

Are there a minimum number of photo or logo cookies I need to order?

Yes, there is a minimum order of 12 round or heart cookies and 10 rectangular cookies.

Will my cookies and other products look exactly like they do on your website?

No. All of our products are made by hand by our skilled bakers and decorators. There may occasionally be slight differences between the pictures of our products on our website and the product you receive. Our quality is second-to-none and we pay exceptional attention to detail. Our goal is to please our customers.

Please also note that all product prices and sizes are subject to change without notice. We try not to vary our prices and products too much, but sometimes there are price increases due to raw material increases.

What conditions are best for storing your photo and logo cookies until they are used?

We recommend you store our cookies in a cool, dry place until you use them. Keep them flat, if possible, and arrange them no more than a day before your event. You can expect some deterioration if moisture touches the cookies' surface. Also, humidity can cause discoloration of your image.

May your products be frozen?

We do not recommend freezing our photo and logo cookies, as condensation during thawing may damage their appearance. Many of our brownies and bars may, however, be frozen for up to six months.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept credit cards and checks. Please send us your payment as soon as possible as only paid orders are placed into our production schedule. Our mailing address is: Splurge Bakery, 105 Main Street, Millburn, NJ 07041. You are responsible for any bank fees applied for insufficient funds, currently such fees are $25. If you pay in-person at our store, we accept cash as well.

What if my event is cancelled or I need to make changes to order?

Personalized items cancelled or reduced in quantity more than 14 days prior to your event date are generally eligible to receive a refund. You will be responsible, however, for all costs which we may have incurred prior to your cancellation, including set-up charges, and custom packaging costs if any.

No cancellations are accepted with less than 14 days notice prior to your event date, though shipping fees may be refundable (provided your order has not already been shipped). Once your order has been shipped, absolutely no refunds are available.

Non-Personalized items have a 72 hour cancellation policy in order to receive a full refund or to make changes to an order of non-personalized desserts. This is 72 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up date and time. You must speak directly with a retail associate for a cancellation to be processed and considered received. We do not issue refunds for orders cancelled with less than 72 hours notice, or for items that are not picked up.

Changes or cancellations made after work on your order has begun may not be possible.

What if my products arrive damaged?

We are experts at shipping our products and have an extremely low rate of damage. However, occasionally it does occur. Please inspect your order immediately when it arrives. If your product arrives damaged, please contact us immediately (within 24 hours). Please hold on to all packaging material including outer shipping carton. We might request you take a photo of the damage, including the outer shipping carton. This will help with our claim to FedEx. Customer satisfaction is a priority for us and we will work with you to reasonably rectify the situation.

May I receive a refund if I do not like my cookies?

Except as otherwise described in these FAQs, because our cookies are baked to order, customized and cannot be resold, all purchases are non-refundable.

How will my products be shipped and how much is shipping?

When should I arrange to have my products delivered?

If your order is for a special event, we recommend that you arrange your delivery so that it is scheduled to arrive one or two days before your event.

Please Note: We reserve the right to crop photos, edit text and text color to make the best possible image. If you prefer that a photo is set-up in a certain way, please let us know when you place your order.

What is the best way to send you my image?

If you have a digital image, please e-mail it to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please send us a high resolution jpeg image, at least 300 dpi — the higher the resolution, the better. If you have a printed photo and you are unable to scan it, please mail it to us at:

Will my printed photograph be returned to me?


What format of image do I need to send you?

At least 300 DPI, JPEG format. You may also send a hard copy. If sending a scan, images should be saved as a JPEG, at least at 300 dpi. All images you send us should be at least 200KB in size for the best reproduction onto your cookies.

While we can work with lower-resolution images, color reproduction and clarity may be compromised. We print in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), therefore we cannot match PMS colors.

Tips on Choosing a Photo:

Try to choose photos that are well lit and preferably have a light colored background. Photos taken in shadows reproduce darker. We are able to crop and zoom in. Therefore, focus on choosing a photo that is well lit, bright, and in focus.

Can you repair a damaged photograph?

While we generally crop and adjust slightly the coloring of each photograph in order to ensure an accurate reproduction of your image on your cookies, we are not able to provide extensive repairs to your image.

How do I make sure Splurge Bakery has received all details of my image/logo cookie order?

Before we begin to make your image/logo cookies, we will send you an e-mail with all details of your order for your review and approval. Such details will include the types and quantities of cookies you ordered and the exact words to be included on your cookies. We ask that you email back to confirm that you agree with all the details outlined.
